As trends catch on, they increase in size, creating a noticeable (and often newsworthy) impact on consumer culture. After they peak, trends either subside or evolve, depending on the current tide of consumer values. Trends take a village – at least. Trends are cultural phenomena, and we don’t take them lightly – or coin them without codified consideration. Iconoculture defines consumer trends as:
