Phyllis Makredes brings more than 20 years of experience in sales recruiting, training, management and human resources to her role as vice president of talent management at Iconoculture. Before coming to Iconoculture, she worked for Techies.com, where she headed sales recruiting and training. While there, she developed the strategic hiring plan and, through its successful implementation, helped grow the number of employees from 20 to more than 500 in an 18-month period.

Prior to her work with Techies.com, Phyllis was involved in all areas of recruitment, retention and development of employees at Gartner, Inc. Her assignments took her throughout the U.S. and abroad to England, South Africa, India and Hong Kong. Her experience and success resulted in being chosen as part of a five-person SWAT team to build, develop, recruit and train Gartner, Inc.’s inside sales organization. Within five months, she hired more than 80 sales professionals. Today, this division accounts for 25% of all Gartner, Inc. sales.

Earlier in her career, Phyllis spent 4.5 years at West group, a worldwide provider of legal, regulatory and business information. Thriving in one of the premier inside sales departments in the United States, she rapidly moved into a management position, where she developed and marketed an online directory of lawyers, known today as West Legal Directory.

Phyllis has a BS in Business and an MA in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
